Congratulations to former Lancer Matt Maloney who made his Major League debut with the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, June 6 against the Chicago Cubs in Cincinnati before a sellout crowd of 40,914.  Maloney, a left handed pitcher from Sandusky, Ohio, pitched 6+ innings allowing 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 4 Cub batters and walking one.  He left the game in the 7th inning with the Reds leading 3-2 but received a no-decision as the Cubs scored a run in the 8th before the Reds won the game 4-3 in the 11th inning.  Maloney also collected his first Major League hit in his first at-bat with a single in the 2nd inning.  Maloney becomes the 27th former Lancer to reach the Major Leagues.
